Can complete beginners do your kits?
If you can follow a recipe online, you can put one of our kits together. We supply video instruction with each kit and walk you step-by-step through the process.
Our kits come in different levels of mosaic challenge. But we feel that the instructions are so through that anyone can follow along!
I bought a kit. How do I get started?

I'm giving a kit as a gift. Will my giftee have access to the tutorials?
Yes! A link to our tutorials is included on a postcard that comes with the mosaic kit.
How long do these mosaic kits take to assemble?
Depends on the complexity of the kit!
Beginner - 1 hour
Intermediate - 1.5 hours
Advanced - 2-3 hours
Keep in mind, these are not consecutive. You'll need to pause for 24 hours to let the mastic (glue for tile) dry.
What are nippers? Mastic?
Here's breakdown of our mosaic vocabulary:
- Tile Nipper - Like a scissors, but for tile
- Mastic - Glue that makes the tile pieces stick to the base
- Grout - A cement-like material that fills in the spaces between your tile pieces to finish your piece.
- Base - Like a canvas for your mosaic art (the thing you're sticking your tile pieces on to)
- Shop Towel - A heavy-duty paper towel. Regular paper towels will disintegrate when cleaning your mosaic piece.
- Dry Layout - Composing your mosaic on paper before you commit to gluing it down with mastic.
Do you offer any discounts on bulk purchases? Like if I want to host a mosaic party?
Yes! Email us if you're interested in purchasing 6 kits or more and we'll send a discount your way.
The kit I wanted is sold out. Can I still get it?
Sign up for our email list and you will be the first to know if the requested colorway (or a similar option) comes back in stock.
Can kids do your kits?
Yes! We recommend kids complete their first intermediate or advnaced kit under adult supervision, especially when learning to use nippers.
For children under 7, our layout only Quilt kit is a simpler option. Though we still recommend an adult assist with the mastic and grout steps.
Where do you source the tile for your kits?
We proudly source all of our tile from Mercury Mosaics’ production misfits located in Minnesota. We use technology to cut these upcycled tiles into the shapes for each kit.
Are the ingredients non-toxic?
None of the items are safe to ingest.

Can I shop wholesale?

What shipping options are available?
Our standard shipping method is UPS Ground.
What if my kit is missing pieces?
If upon receiving your box any pieces are damaged or missing, please email us! hello@mosaiccandyshop.com so we can send replacements right away. We want to make sure you have all the tools and pieces you need to make your masterpiece.
